Messy Vintage Church: Pentecost

Jun 03

Hi Everyone

This week's Messy Vintage Church session is looking at Pentecost,

Looking at Act 2 1-4 in the Bible.

1When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

Think about the sunrises and sunsetsthat you have seen and what memories you have with them. The breath taking view and the peace and owe that watching the sunset or the sunrise brings.

Activity

You will need: paper; pencils; paints; small artist palettes or suitable containers; brushes; water pots; kitchen roll; black and brown card or funky foam; scissors; allpurpose glue

Paint a sunset or sunrise, adding card or foam silhouette shapes appropriate to the subject matter.

Celebration

Imagine being in the scene that has been painted; give people space and encouragement to feel caught up in the majesty and power of God’s presence in the sunrise and sunset.

Watch the following two videos and think about God’s sustaining and enabling power throughout the seasons of our lives.
