On 28th March 2024, we were delighted to be awarded our Silver Award, following a year of focus and hard work by the Eco Church Committee and many more St Francis Eco Warriors.
The Eco Church assessment is based on a score system. Points are given for a range of different reasons - but to gain an award you have to score highly on the eco credentials in a set of pre-determined areas.

In March the eco committee felt that there was a chance of achieving Silver, based on the work completed in the previous 12 months. We were very pleased to learn that after reassessment, we had indeed obtained enough points to achieve this award. We are one of only 16 churches in the Diocese of St Albans to achieve this award.
Obviously, the journey does not stop here. We can all think about further improvements we can make to ensure that we are caring for God's world and carrying out our duty as good stewards.
