St Francis is in vacancy – the time between one incumbent (resident priest) leaving and the next one starting. For church services, community activities and events, this is business as usual. We have started the work to appoint a new minister however this is a lengthy process!
Meanwhile we are supported with love and care from many retired or serving clergy and laity members (readers) across the Diocese. The occasional mid-week Eucharist (yes, this means once in a while) may take the form of a Service of the Word i.e. non-Eucharist. We are holding Eucharist services on all Sundays. In fact, being led and celebrated by new and different priests has given us just as exciting and interesting sermons and uplifting services!
As parishioners, volunteers and church officers, we all reach out; work, care and support each other and our community in love and faith. Come as before or if you are new, welcome and join us.
NEW! We have an additional mid-week Eucharist service to celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi on Thursday, 19 June @8pm.
We continue to offer the following:
Tuesday @1930 Said Eucharist
Wednesday @1030 Said Eucharist (Morning Worship sometimes)
Update: Great news, most Wed 10:30 am services will be a Said Eucharist except for one, now and then in the form of a Service of the Word or Morning Worship. We aim and continue to secure more clergy coverage all the time – please check online or call our Parish Office: 01707 694191, Wed to Fri 9:30 to 12 noon).
Sunday @0800 Said Eucharist and @0915 Parish Communion (sung)
Frankie’s @5 informal Worship Service on the first Sunday of each month
(Next date: 6 July with a special Afternoon Tea Party before service (starts 4pm)
Choral Evensong @1800 on the fourth Sunday of each month
(Follows traditional pattern in The Book of Common Prayer and consists of choral music (psalms, canticles, and anthems) in the rich Anglican musical tradition, scripture readings, and prayers. The service provides a time for quiet reflection.)
Please pray with us and for us as we have started the process of looking for a new minister!
(Next service: 22 June)
