St Francis WGC - Virtual Church

Services will be streamed at 10.00 am each Sunday. We aim for the new service post to go live at approximately 09.55 on the Sunday morning, so don't panic if you look early and there is nothing there!

At this challenging time, the PCC is trying to find other ways for people to continue to receive support in their walk with Christ. Jesus told us that when two or three are gathered together, he is there in the midst. As we cannot gather in person, we are hopeful that people will still try to meet virtually using the various channels on offer.

Here are some ideas to help:

1

Idea 1 - Pick up the telephone

Give somebody a telephone call.
Have a chat. Share your concerns, but also your hopes and your joys. Pray together.

2

Idea 2 - Video Call

If you can - Use one of the many online platforms for video calls (Microsoft Teams, Skype, WhatsApp, Facetime etc.). Don't know how? Google it - there are many tutorials.
If you are able to get a virtual group together - why not have a prayer time, or a Bible study.

3

Idea 3 - Sing or Pray (or both!)

Find worship resources online and make use of them.
The Church of England has a wealth of resources which are free to use. Youtube has music both ancient and modern, often complete with lyrics.

Idea 4 - Check in here again

Do come back to this blog. We will be trying to write articles and 'pauses for thought' so that you can reflect and then engage with God. You can also engage with others by writing comments.

Idea 5 - Visit our Facebook Page

We will be posting there, and the community can engage with the posts and with each other.

Most of all - remember - this is temporary and by supporting each other, and through the love of God - we will come through the other side.

May God Bless us all at this time.

Isaiah 43:1-3a

"But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour."

Hello Pamela, good to be sharing self isolation with you….if that makes sense! And yes, isn’t it great that we can still have a sense of our church being there for us? We can still have a sense of supportive communion. Thank you Jenny and techies!
We’re enjoying lighting our candle and praying together at 7pm, that too gives a sense of communion. Makes a difference.
