Vintage Church: Prayer Squares

Sep 16

For our Vintage Church session this week i thought we could revisit a session we did way back at the beginning of lockdown. I thought we could each make a prayer square and then send it into Church and then i will (hopefully) be able to stitch them altogether to make a prayer blanket that we can put up in Church

'I have a challenge for everyone who enjoys sewing & stitching. Spring harvest has come up with a wonderful idea of each Church or community making a memory blanket of prayer ?

Each person can make one or two 'squares' and then i can stitch them all together to create a prayer blanket.

Each square needs to be 12x12cm wide with a 2cm border all the way round. You can use an old sheet and cut two squares out and place on top of each other and then start your prayer square.

The wonderful video and guidance is here in this video below, Thank you to spring harvest for a fabulous idea!

My aim is to have a 2020 patchwork prayer quilt on display for Remembrance Sunday.

The photograph below is a beautiful prayer square I received this week ❤

I look forward to receiving more prayer squares over the coming weeks
