YACC: The baptism of Jesus

Jan 07

Today's Youth and Children's Church session we are looking when Jesus was baptised.

Jesus came to John the Baptist while he was baptising people in the River Jordan. ...

As soon as Jesus was baptised, he came up out of the water. Heaven was opened and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. Then a voice said from heaven, “This is my own dear son with whom I am pleased.”

We will be looking at the Bible reading Matthew 3 v13-17

Our activity cards are below for you to look through:

The video story clips to go with today's session are:

Now you have read the Bible reading and you have seen the video story clips why not try and think about these questions:

Why do you think John did not want to Baptise Jesus?

What did Jesus tell John?

By being baptised what did Jesus show God?

What sign did God send to Earth?

What can we do to show that we follow God?

Our Father, who art in heaven,

hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come;

thy will be done; on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever.

Amen.
