Get Involved – St Francis of Assisi Church Welwyn Garden City

We have a number of fellowship and study groups that meet regularly

Coffee for All is held each Wednesday; 10:30 am - noon in our Parish Room. This is a social time to meet and catch up with others over tea, coffee and biscuits.

Thursday Lunches is held each Thursday; 12 noon to 1pm in our Hall. We offer homemade soup with bread roll, cheese & pickle. Join us for a friendly chat over a cuppa and biscuits. No need to book - just turn up.

Various house groups meet regularly (eg. fortnightly) to study the Bible, pray and share fellowship together.

These groups often follow a published study guide (eg. by Scripture Union), with members taking turns to lead or host a session. At certain times of year, such as Advent and Lent, short-term groups are set up, meeting together throughout the season to study and discuss the bible, pray and reflect. Everyone is welcome at our fellowship and study groups - please ask for more details.

We have an annual Summer Fete and Christmas Tree Festival, as well as all-age events such as the Light Party (on 31 October each year).

St Francis is blessed with a large, enthusiastic and diverse team of people who give time, talent and money to support our church.

We have volunteers who run the children's groups, arrange the flowers, staff the church office, lead the prayers, sing in the choir, pour the tea, maintain the premises, organise events, clean the building, serve during communion, bake for celebrations, welcome visitors... the list goes on!

As a registered charity, we are also supported through financial donations, including regular, one-off and legacy giving.
