Christmas Tree Festival
Second weekend of Advent (normally falling on the 1st weekend of December)
The largest event in the year, enjoyed by some 1,500 visitors, raises funds for St Francis and the 1st Welwyn Garden City Scouts. Local business, schools and charities participate exhibiting their own trees and the whole community gets together in a range of activities, including viewing the trees, participating in the games and tombola, enjoying refreshments or even visiting Santa in his Grotto at St Francis.
Third weekend in June
Come sun or rain, the summer fete takes place in the gardens of St Francis every year in June. It is our annual date to bring together all the usual suspects: barbequed food, cakes and teas outside, inflatable castle, raffle, second hand sale.
First Sunday of Lent
A chance for fellowship and eating together during Lent. Often a speaker from the charity we have chosen to support during Lent will join us to share information about the work of this charity. Fundraising for our Lent Charity of the year.
Christian Aid Quiz Night
Christian Aid Week, May
A quiz night with supper. An annual fundraising event for this well known charity.
